Now that the 2012 holiday season has finally flown by, it seems like local life is more or less settling down. After the much vaunted but ultimately “invisible” apocalypse and the big December storms, normal life seems like quite a relief. How’s your local life these days?

As of the new year there are now four active deep nature garden projects, including my own. The schedule is full, at least for this month.

Wet, windy winter weather has definitely had an impact on the gardens. Some plants have been broken or tilted by the winds. Many plants call out for major pruning and thinning. Areas where the ecosystem is relatively new feature large, vigorous pioneers. There are droves of seedlings almost everywhere. Many of them will be removed, leaving behind the most interesting of course.

Here in the blog there are several open threads at the moment.

In the projects we have Elizabeth’s Garden and Little Yellow House, both of which are currently tracking months behind real-time. But we’ll fix that! There are interesting developments coming up in both stories, plus a brand new deep nature garden project, starting with the first official visit tomorrow, January 8. Watch for Porchside Ecology‘s garden story, coming soon.

There is also the recent mushroom walk, which still has two more exciting installments. As we will see, there can never be too many cool shrooms.

All sorts of interesting life forms are alive in this wonderful, wet time. Finding them and capturing their portraits is a good adventure. Watch for the best ones here.

Happy New Year to all!

Yes, there has been a break from posts. What can I say… holidays, computer glitches, overwhelm. Sometimes you just have to back off for a while.

The changes have been good, all things considered. Deepest thanks to all of the great folks out there in this holiday time! Best wishes to all.

Where were we? We left off right in the middle of a fun mushroom walk, but before we continue that adventure let’s check in with a garden we have not visited much in recent months…

Next: back to Elizabeth’s garden!

Surprise! We have a new name and an exciting new company is born. At last, the ecosystem art gardening projects are coming together as one entity. “Deep nature gardens” describes who we are, what we do, and what we create.

By the way – the old name “one green stone” and its old URL will still work. But from now, the blog’s main URL is http://deepnaturegardens.com.

Stay tuned for more great new developments!

For several months these pages have been unchanged. It was time to pull back again, as another major redesign was needed of some aspects of this life-journey. Those close to me know what an interesting and emotional phase this has been!

Now that some clarity is beginning to re-appear, it’s time to put myself back out there.

Many old habits, commitments, and patterns have dropped away. Creative ideas are shooting up out of the rich compost of the deep mindheart. There is new color in the world!

This blog is now re-activated, and also the blogs at Empty Witness and Clear Display.

I welcome the larger world back into this small life. I hope it welcomes me back too!

I’m back after a time of silence. It was good to get away from public presence for a while, to think about life and calling and stuff. As you might imagine, there are a lot of thoughts and feelings around the ecogardening projects. It seems like some adjustments in strategy might be appropriate, based on what has been learned lately.

The passion is deep, the commitment is strong. Now, how to proceed to find a viable calling?

Watch these pages for updates on this ongoing evolution.

So far, One Green Stone has been a fascinating experiment. What kind of blog would it become?

Looking at early posts, there was a kind of casting about for topics. What should I write about? There was a tendency to sort of splash it out there in different ways, trying out different voices.

Lately things have settled and a few distinct flows have emerged. Now it seems appropriate to create several more focused streams, to honor the distinctness of the different flows.

Two new blogs split out now, leaving One Green Stone leaner and cleaner with a more precise focus. Off-topic posts will be disappearing, either moved to one of the other blogs or simply vanished.

The first new blog is called “clear display.” The name arises from the wonderful sharings of the excellent Jim Wray, whose tweets and writings reveal the deep truth of the nondual Clear Aware Display that is our experience of Reality. The new blog is primarily visual, featuring photography, Photoshop art, algorithmic metaflowers, and contributed works. It uses the beautiful Nishita theme which features 1024-wide images. Subscribe to clear display if you’d like to see more of this beautiful art as it is published.

The second new blog is called “empty witness.” Here you will find articles and comments about the world, my life, and life in general. Subscribe to empty witness if you’ve enjoyed or valued the commentaries in past months about world events, Al Jazeera, modern prophets, friendly aliens, nondual Being, and paleo lifestyle.

This blog you are reading (One Green Stone) will center around ecology, and especially the art of eco-gardening, with various excursions into weather, science, or other interests. It will continue to be a celebration of beautiful Earthly nature and life forms.

It is delightful to feel the enthusiasm and interest that people are showing around these projects. Thank you for your support, and double special thanks to all enthusiastic eco-garden clients.
